Vision

We envision a Vermont where the voices of those impacted by crime are elevated and responded to with compassion, fairness, and justice.

Mission

The Center for Crime Victim Services offers support, advocacy and services for those impacted by crime, and works to hold those who have caused harm responsible.

Guiding Principles

We strive to ensure that services are:

  • Delivered in a timely manner
  • Trauma informed
  • Culturally sensitive
  • Tailored to the crime
  • Not victim blaming
  • Available to the victim regardless of the offender's status
  • Improved by the input of victims and providers
  • Made to hold the offender accountable

Values

We believe that every person is equal and valuable; and if victimized, is entitled to full and equal justice. Justice for crime victims can be achieved through the individualized provision of high quality services, by holding offenders accountable for harm done, and by engaging and educating communities and government agencies about victimization.
